Why do we give back?
Our team has found that giving back to our communities informs our purpose and passion – giving back feels good. More importantly, it has a meaningful impact on some of our most vulnerable community members. Two Small Men donates 10% of profits back to community organizations and initiatives to power our passion for giving.
We also believe that businesses have a social responsibility to give back and help to create social change in the communities where their teams live and operate.
Two Small Men has created partnerships with local and national charitable organizations across Canada, and our efforts continue to grow each year. Two Small Men's 101 Donated Moves
Two Small Men with Big Hearts donates 10% of profits back to local organizations and initiatives to power our passion for community giving. In 2020, we were inspired to elevate our giving back programs after seeing the widespread negative impact that the COVID-19 pandemic had on communities in Canada. Winter is an especially difficult time for vulnerable community members, and we were hearing about the struggles our community organization partners were facing. We knew the Two Small Men with Big Hearts team had to help.
We decided the best way to help would be to continue doing what our team does best — moving. Not-for-profit organizations often don’t have the budget to hire movers, which means moves are completed at the expense of their staffers’ time and energy. This can take them away from completing the crucial community services they provide, and we want to do our part to help prevent that.
Two Small Men offered nearly unlimited donated moves to our community organization partners for the duration of December and most of January. Our moving services were used by community organizations in a number of ways: to move their clients who were transitioning to new and improved housing situations, moving their teams to new office spaces, or picking up and delivering pallets of donated items to their warehouses and offices. We answered the call from our community partners whenever they needed us.
After the success of this season of giving, we decided to install this program as a permanent annual fixture in our community giving calendar. In 2021, we more than quadrupled the number of moves we donated, and in 2022 our goal is to donate 101 moves to our partnered organizations from November 18th to January 18th.

Donated Moving Services
Two Small Men offers donated moving services to community organizations that provide crucial social services like housing, food, and other community support to our most vulnerable community members. We’ve donated all kinds of moves: from helping clients move into their new homes, to delivering donated pallets of food and essential items to our partners, to moving community organizations into new office spaces, saving their staff time, energy, and budget.
Staff Donated Time
We know that it can be difficult to balance work, life, and community. We want our Two Small Men team members to feel empowered to be a part of their community without it costing them their precious personal and family time. Our Staff Donated Time program allows our staff to donate a portion of their paid working hours to volunteering with community organizations throughout Canada.
Shelter Movers Partner
"Shelter Movers is a volunteer-powered charity that provides free moving and storage to those who are leaving abuse in the home. Two Small Men have been important partners; quick to respond and always willing to help. Their crews are punctual, professional, and take care of the belongings. If there are any issues with volume or narrow access or existing damage to furniture, they discuss the plan ahead of time and involve the volunteers and client. Annual Events
There are a few recurring events that we’ve developed long-term relationships with, who only require our services once per year. These include events like the Calgary Hitmen’s Teddy Bear Toss, 630 CHED Santas Anonymous, and Firefighters Without Borders Canada’s annual donation of firefighting equipment to overseas countries. We are proud to partner with these events that do so much good in so many communities!
